Columbia Beach Resort Launches H&S Ambassador Programme

Columbia Beach Resort is proud to share details of its latest initiative celebrating its staff
members’ unwavering commitment to sound health and safety practices, as well as championing
environmental awareness.

The new Health & Safety and Environmental Ambassador Award will be bestowed every month to
a dedicated team member who has displayed keen sensitivity to health and safety issues,
exemplified hygiene standards, and demonstrated quality environmental management practices.

Of the new programme, Columbia Beach Resort’s Marketing Manager, Anthea Vikis, explains:
“Since the resort’s inception, when it was moulded reverentially into the beautiful landscape of
Pissouri, from whose resources we thrive, the stakeholders of Columbia Beach Resort pledged
fidelity to promoting and protecting our irreplaceable environment. Awe-inspiring as it is, our staff
members need little more incentive to do their upmost in establishing a culture of respect for our
surroundings, and so the newly launched ambassador programme aims to celebrate their efforts.”

Elaborating, Mary Frangou, Health Safety Manager of Columbia Beach Resort, shares: “The
ambassador award is built around five core achievements, that of promoting awareness of health
and safety issues, observing environments to identify potential risks or areas of improvement,
communicating insights in a bid to enhance workplace safety, assisting in training new staff on
health, safety and environmental protocols, and collaborating with management to spearhead best
practices.”

Commencing as of October 2024, the monthly Health & Safety and Environmental Ambassador
Award will serve as a badge of honour, as well as a reminder of the importance of adhering to
established protocols and standards in ensuring the protection of our environment, as well as the
safety and well-being of both team members and guests alike.

A vital branch of the resort’s wider touristic ecosystem, Columbia’s Caring Luxury is dear to the
hearts of both team members and guests alike, who collaboratively contribute to various projects
and initiatives, including the resort’s long-standing Cat Care Project, and affiliation with the Anti-
Cancer Society and Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Network.

Steered by this caring vision and verve, Columbia Beach Resort has been honoured with a Green
Key Award in recognition of its efforts to champion the environment, as well as being welcomed
into SLH’s Considerate Collection.
