Cyprus Featured in List of Fastest Growing Tourist Destinations

Famed for its summer sun, travellers aplenty have long flocked to the island of Cyprus in search of sand and sea.

And, yet, the island is a veritable treasure trove of varied and valuable holiday experiences, which –for many visitors –remain undiscovered.

Following a determined effort by both public and private stakeholders of the travel and tourism industry alike, travellers are finally sitting up and taking notice of all this seemingly sleepy Mediterranean isle has to offer.

So much so, in fact, that Cyprus has been featured in the United Nations World Tourism Organisation’s list of fastest-growing tourist destinations.

Tracking travel trends internationally and utilising data to predict the newest up-and-coming destinations, Cyprus featured 16ththis year, having experienced a significant 18% spike in tourist arrivals.

Venturing away from the beach and into the heart of the island’s culture, tourists are more and more exploring Cyprus’ stunning archaeological sites,delectable foodand wine offerings, hiking andbikingtracks, world-classgolf courses, and winter wonderland magic (it’s true: snow blankets the Troodos mountains every year, and there is even a collection of ski slopes!).
