What to Expect – SUP Yoga FAQ
Do I need prior experience?
Not at all! Our SUP Yoga sessions are designed for all levels, including complete beginners. Whether you're new to yoga, paddleboarding, or both - our friendly instructor will guide you every step of the way.
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable swimwear or quick-drying activewear that you don’t mind getting a little wet. Rash guards, yoga leggings, and secure-fitting tops are great choices. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat for extra sun protection!
Is equipment provided?
Yes - everything you need is included! We provide the paddleboard, paddle and anchor. Just bring yourself, a towel, and a sense of adventure.
Is it beginner-friendly and safe?
Absolutely. Our certified instructors always prioritize your safety and comfort. The sessions take place in calm, shallow waters near the resort, and we start with a short introduction to paddleboarding and balancing before easing into gentle yoga poses.
How long is each session?
Each SUP Yoga class lasts approximately 60 minutes. We begin with a brief introduction on land, followed by a paddle warm-up, then flow into a relaxing yoga practice on the water — finishing with a peaceful floating savasana under the sun.
Will I fall in?
It’s possible — and totally okay! Falling in can be part of the fun, especially when you're learning. Our instructor is there to support you, and many people find it refreshing! Just think of it as part of the adventure. Plus, the calm waters and anchored boards help keep things stable.
How many people can join a class?
To ensure a personal and safe experience, each SUP Yoga session is limited to a small group - typically up to 15 participants. This allows our instructors to offer individual guidance while maintaining a relaxed, supportive atmosphere on the water.

Straight from the board:
“My colleague and I decided to try a new fun activity this past week, and SUP Yoga at Columbia Beach Resort seemed like the perfect fit……and it was!
Now keep in mind, I am a mom of 3 under 5, who has not had the time to work out or reach any type of fitness goals in probably over a year, and have never even been on a SUP board before! I was sure I would fall in the cold water on a Sunday morning at 9.00 am. I will admit, I was feeling pretty apprehensive about doing the class even on that morning, but I am happy to report that I was COMPLETELY wrong!
The water was amazing, in fact, I wish I had fallen from the SUP during the class because it was just the perfect temperature for a hot summer day in Cyprus. Having never tried this before, it was incredibly easy to steer the board to the line where all the participants “hooked” the SUPs in order to do the class and once hooked in it was just a matter of paying attention to the instructor and following the moves.
The outcome? Once the class ended, I felt energized, accomplished and also a sense of peace after having such a wonderful activity in the beautiful Blue Flag beach of Pissouri with the majestic Cape Aspro Mountain and the Columbia Beach Resort in the background. It set the mood for the day, and for me, the fact that I was able to do something so fun while also getting a workout from it, was just the most rewarding feeling.
And yes, my muscles felt it the next day!
I absolutely recommend it and invite anyone to try it, it is complimentary for guests of Columbia Beach Resort and for Hebe Spa members”
